Carbon Folly does not address global warming, per se. Instead it examines the technologies needed to cut CO2 emissions by the 83% required by the Waxman-Markey cap & trade legislation.
Carbon capture and sequestration, Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle coal fired power plants, nuclear, and a variety of alternative methods for generating electricity, as well as conservation, are examined in Carbon Folly.
The second edition includes a section on the Rio conference in 1990; a discussion of the Waxman-Markey cap & trade legislation; and a map, together with a description, of the pipelines that will be needed to transport 30 million barrels of liquid CO2 daily, from coal fired power plants to geologic formations where it might be sequestered.
